Trevor Platt Science Foundation Sponsors Salma Sheini for ESA Ocean Training Course 2024-25

The Trevor Platt Science Foundation is delighted to announce that Ms Salma Sheini, Assistant Fisheries Manager at the Fisheries Commission, Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation & Rural Development of Ghana, has been selected as the TPSF sponsored candidate for the ESA Ocean Training Course 2024-25. The award is granted by the Trevor Platt Science Fund from the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML).

This prestigious award will enable Salma to participate in the 8th ESA Ocean Training Course. She will join early-career ocean professionals from around the globe for an online course from 12 November 2024 to 12 April 2025, followed by a scientific expedition aboard the tall ship  Statsraad Lehmkuhl.

The expedition will take her from Tromsø (Norway) to Nice (France) between 22 April and 6 June 2025.

The Trevor Platt Science Fund at PML, in association with the Trevor Platt Science Foundation, will cover Salma’s travel expenses, registration fee, and daily allowances during her time aboard the ship.
